Principal's Address
Dear Families,
40 Year Service Award - JOSETTE SCOTT
Congratulations to Mrs Josette Scott who recently received her 40 Year Service Award for her contributions to State Education. On leaving school, Josette began her career at Oatlands as the kindergarten Teacher Assistant and has undertaken a myriad of roles across the course of her career. For many years she has been the welcoming face, greeting our smallest students as they arrive each day, sorting their problems and reassuring parents. She has a bright outlook, is happy and jovial and an asset to each school she has worked in. Josette has also volunteered her time at the School’s Triathlon and has supported Richmond Primary students who attend this event continuously for 20 years. Next year Josette is taking on the challenge of running our Library and undertaking a general T.A. role. Ever learning, Josette is a fine example of a lifelong learner.
Congratulations Josette on your long and fruitful career.
Assemblies
Thank you to all who attended our Awards Assembly last Tuesday and our Leavers Assembly yesterday. The Awards Assembly was a wonderful celebration of our years’ work. The Leavers Assembly for those who attended, I think you would agree, was a delightful celebration of each of our Year 6 students and their time here at Richmond Primary. We certainly wish them all the very best as they transition to high school.

We have received such positive feedback from our parents who attended the recent parent information session with Lisa Ford that I have booked a follow up session. The feedback indicated that parents would like the next session to address anxiety and navigating friendships.
The date for this session is Wednesday 27th March 2024 from 6.00 – 7.30. So please add this date to your calendar and come along.
The students also enjoyed their sessions and Lisa commented that they were all eager to participate and she loved all the different personalities. Lisa said in many other sessions she has led in the past many children are often reluctant to participate, but not our students. The student sessions will be run on Tuesday 9th April and Wednesday 10th April for Year 4 -6 students.
Colour Run
On Thursday we had our first colour run and there was lots of fun had by everyone.
I wish to thank the School Association for funding the purchase of the coloured powder and for organising the sausage sizzle and icy poles for the students. There was a great deal of fun had by all and squeals of delight filled the oval.
Speaking to the students it was unanimous that this should be an annual event in our school calendar.
I wish our Richmond Primary families and friends the very best for the upcoming Christmas season. Have a safe and restful break. Enjoy your holidays and I look forward to seeing you on Thursday 8th February 2024 for the start of another great year.

Book Pack Collection and Uniform Sales
The office will be open for book pack collection and uniform sales on:

3/4 A & B
Our annual Ninja Warrior Water Play was a huge success once again this year! Plenty of slime and foam covered the students from head to toe. The slip and slide was especially a huge hit.
Library Books!!
Last call out!
We have many school library books still to be returned.
Please have a search around home for any school library books and return ASAP.
Any books located over the holiday break can be returned at the beginning of the 2024 school year.
